There are only 16 teams left standing in the MHSAA’s 2012 season, four in each division. The semifinal round of the playoffs takes place tomorrow night, and let’s take a quick look at the matchups.
Brother Rice v. Seaholm will take place 20 miles away from both schools (which are a mile away from each other, go figure) at Detroit Catholic Central. Holt v. Pioneer takes place in Howell. Both games are at 6 p.m.
Country Day v. Cranbrook (again, just a couple miles apart) goes down at Grosse Pointe South, 30 miles from either school. Notre Dame Prep v. Forest Hills Central takes place at East Lansing High School. Both games, again, start at 6 p.m.
The situation is a little different for the girls, whose Divisions both play at the same site (a much better idea, if you ask me).
The Division-1 semifinals take place at South Lyon High School, with the Seaholm/Rockford game facing off at 5, and Hartland/Pioneer following at 7 p.m.
The Division-2 semifinals take place at Okemos High School. Cranbrook-Kinswood v. East Grand Rapids starts at 5, and Okemos v. Lady follows at 7 p.m.
All four finals will take place Saturday, with the boys playing at Birmingham Seaholm, and the girls in Rockford.
