Although we’re still a weekend away from the CCLA Division-1 tournament matchups being set, the 8-team Division-2 playoff starts this weekend, featuring five teams from Michigan:
Two Michigan-based teams are bound to get knocked out in the quarterfinal round, with all-Michigan matchups between Grand Valley State and Oakland, and Davenport and Aquinas. GVSU and Davenport are heavy favorites to square of in the conference championship game.
The remaining Michigan team, Hope College, is the five-seed, and wil travel to four-seed Indiana Tech. The Flying Dutchmen bested ITU 13-11 in Holland April 13. Should they earn a repeat victory, they’ll most likely face Grand Valley next Friday in Saline.
