Since the commitments are coming in fast and furious, let’s recap which future Wolverines (and Titans) have been profiled. Yes, this is partially just for my own sanity and for the sake of not forgetting anyone. First though, a couple of updates:
- Michigan D Commit Brendan Riefberg commented on his Hello post with a couple corrections (including a link to a highlight video!). I’ve noted those corrections in the post.
- Laxlessons.com reports that 2011 CT D Ryan Breen has switched his commitment from Lafayette to Michigan. I’m no longer in the business of profiling 2011 players – who should be on campus shortly, anyway – but check out the post, which has a bit of info on Ryan, including how excited he is to play Ohio State in the Big House.
On to the list of profiles:
Detroit
- MI G Connor Flynn.
Michigan (in chronological order):
- MD A Evan Glaser
- PA D Graham Conlan
- CA A Brendan Gaughan
- MI D Chris Walker
- TX A Will Perkins
- KY M/FO Brad Lott
- PA LSM Paxton Moore
- NY M Matt Graham
- PA M Dan Kinek
- NJ D Brendan Riefberg
That means there are several commitments (with various degrees of confirmation) still to profile. Guys I’ve mentioned before:
- CT D/LSM Charlie Keady (profile post tomorrow)
- CT M Peter Kraus (IL confirmed, profile post forthcoming)
- ON M Kyle Jackson
- MD LSM Chase Brown
- CA M Michael Hernandez
- MI A Riley Kennedy
- CT G Gerald Logan
- OH D Cooper Charlton
And new names:
- NY M Sam Matorella (ESPN Rise commitment brief – though I believe they have his name wrong and it’s actually “Martorella”)
- FL A Brian Stauffer (ESPN Rise commitment article, and Inside Lacrosse confirmation)
Lots of commitment posts to run through for Michigan. The Titans are still sitting with just one 2012 commitment on LaxPower.
Inside Lacrosse is also reporting the first known class of 2013 commitment for Michigan:
Will Weichert, Defense, Chatham (N.J.) has committed to the University of Michigan. Weichert played for Leading Edge lite 2013 and also participated in the Brine Nationals with New Jersey.
Profile post on its way once all the 2012s are taken care of.
Tim – are you aware of any recruiting class ranking system out there? I’m interested to see how we are starting to stack up compared to other programs.
Thanks for all the hard work.
I don’t know of anything that’s a Rival or Scout-like substance for lacrosse. I do believe ESPN Rise does a bit of individual player rankings, so we shall see how many Michigan guys are on the lists.
Inside Lacrosse does class rankings every year, but it’s going to be at least a couple of years, maybe until the 2014 class, until you see Michigan break into them. They were too late to the D1 game to put together a nationally celebrated class in 2012, and probably the same is true for 2013. That’s not to say this class isn’t going to be good. From the looks of it so far it will be. But it won’t be a top ranked class full of blue-chips.
