The best MCLA team in the Midwest will be determined this weekend at the CCLA Tournament in Saline (well, actually it’s been determined over the past four years, but whateva). Michigan and Pittsburgh will represent the conference’s Eastern Division, while Michigan State and Central Michigan will represent the West. The bracket looks like so:
The 3 and 4 seeds are not official (the East’s #2 team plays the West’s #1 time and vice versa, regardless of record), but Pittsburgh was the far superior team to Central Michigan this year so it works out. The 1/4 game takes place on Saturday at 1pm, followed by the 2/3 game at 4pm. The Division-2 final takes place following the Michigan State/Pittsburgh game, at 7pm.
Neither of these games is a repeat matchup from the regular season, so we’ll have a chance to see some fresh lacrosse. The winners of Saturday’s games will be on Sunday at 1pm for the conference championship and the automatic bid to the MCLA Tournament. Both Michigan and Michigan State will be dancing no matter how they show this weekend.
