The Ann Arbor Journal was on hand last weekend as Huron, Greenhills, Pioneer, and Skyline visited Gabriel Richard for a set of spring scrimmages. It sounds like this may become a regular occurrence:
[AAGR Coach Jim] Carl said he was happy with the enthusiasm the teams showed, and excited about the event. “If this works out well today and everyone has a good time, we’re hoping to rotate this from school to school,” Carl said. “So that everybody will have a chance to host it every five years.”
Great for lacrosse in the area, should that come to fruition. Click through to the article for quotes from the coaches on how their teams performed. On the heels of the scrimmage, all five area teams get the preview treatment from The Journal. You can see each team’s outlook and goal for the season by clicking through.
Hopefully, lacrosse previews from other areas (Grand Rapids, Oakland County) will be published soon. They’ll get their love in this space as well.
I’m not sure who the Huron goalkeeper was, but he looked pretty sharp against Pioneer. They weren’t shooting the ball extremely well, but he kept pretty much everything out of the cage. Very active feet.
